Constance Jablonski
Constance Jablonski, with her refined beauty à la Lily Donaldson, holds the prize for the highest number of appearances during the Spring/Summer 2010 fashion weeks. She participated in more than 70 shows, her silhouette as familiar to us now as her huge gray-blue eyes...

The north of France, better known for the foolish antics of the famous French comic actor, Dany Boon in his box office hit Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, (aka Welcome to the land of the Shtis), than for its fashion models, has nevertheless recently provided us with two Elite competition winners. Born in the city of Lille in 1990, Jablonski is one of these two.
Having received many compliments on her physique, the young Jablonski decided at 16 to enter a competition to see if the they were true. She tried for the Elite Model Look and won. It should be noted that at 1m79 (5 foot 8 inches), she did not go unnoticed. A cross between Uma Thurman and Julia Dunstall, her particular nordic blond beauty immediately drew attention.
However, this high school student kept her head on her shoulders. In an agreement with her parents, she decided to wait on her modeling contract prize until she finished her studies. The fashion world would have to be patient two more years before seeing this new young Marilyn Agency (Paris) recruit on the New York catwalks.

She showed for highly visible labels such as BCBG Max Azria, Diane Von Furstenberg and Donna Karan, which led to an invitation by the Italians to open for Blugirl by Blumarine and La Perla. With only two weeks of shows under her belt, she set about conquering Paris who welcomed her with open arms. She showed for Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Dries Van Noten.
We can safely say that this little Frenchie is beginning her career in a very auspicious manner. She may not be drawing the attention of Vogue editors in chief yet, but her promising young face is nevertheless causing a stir in the press.

In fact, during the Milan shows, the Marie Claire Italy team fell under her charm and proposed a photo session with the photographer Max Cardelli. Several weeks later, things sped up: although others may wait several seasons to get their first cover (if they get one at all), Jablonski appeared on the cover of the Italian magazine Amica in November.
At this point, in order to gain access to the holy grail of high-end ad campaigns, all she needed was the support of one of the star photographers of the moment. This came via Steven Meisel, who definitively launched Jablonski by shooting her for Vogue Italy. The D&G spring/summer 2008 campaign in which she participated, shot by Mario Testino, solidified her success and brought her other contracts, e.g. the spring/summer 2009 Donna Karan campaign.

If she is not yet one of the top models who chooses which shows she wants to work, Jablonski is nevertheless on the right path to becoming one. Since April 2009, she has posed for no less than seven Vogue editions, of which two were for Vogue France. Everything seems to be going in the right direction for her to indulge her passion for traveling.
This being said, the fashion world may be taken with this young Nordic beauty, but with her striking resemblance to Leah de Wavrin (Elite Model Look 2005 winner) and Lily Donaldson, she does run the risk of becoming interchangeable. To be continued...
