Natalie Portman for Dior
28 07 2010Better known for her superior roles than for her connections to the fashion world, the discreet Natalie Portman seems to be on the verge of changing her game. With the purity of her traits and the insolence of her slender silhouette, it is no surprise that the luxury world, in their constant search of new icons, would become interested in her.

In order to survive in the heart of the Hollywoodian jungle, many actresses feel obliged to constantly expose themselves. They flutter along the private party red carpets, show up for the opening of the latest hip destinations, their repeat appearances nibbling away little by little at their mystery.
Others, like Portman, keep a respectful distance from the world of glitter, preferring to appear in public only when necessary for promotional reasons. Since her remarkable role in Luc Besson's film Léon at the age of 12, Portman has consistently remained far from the media.
Leading a life free of indiscretions, shocking headlines and time spent at the police station, Portman is today one of the rare actresses whose image is clean. Hers is an ideal and risk-free profile for the high-end perfume and cosmetic industry.

Usually more inclined to involve herself in humanitarian causes than to give her name to luxury brands, Portman has nevertheless finally given in to the requests by the LVMH group. The presence of Sofia Coppola at the heart of the project undoubtedly had something to do with it.
Last July 21, those walking around (Paris) Parc Monceau were able to watch the filming of the Miss Dior Chérie commercial, discovering Portman working her magic in front of Coppola's camera.
Judging by the demands that the actress makes on her career (i.e., she unhesitatingly refuses roles that she judges lacking in interest, regardless of their bankability), we can believe that the next Miss Dior Chérie spot will be worth watching.
