Rain boots by Loeffler Randall

Autumn will soon be at our doors with its untimely showers and their talent for instantly ruining our suede moccasins and ankle boots. In this context, the new creations by Loeffler Randall, fashionable yet adapted to the season's climatic mood changes, are more than interesting.

The design of waterproof shoes may have considerably evolved over recent years, but they have remained nonetheless relegated to rainy days. It is still fashionably not recommended to slip into a pair of rubber boots when the sun is shining.

However, this September, with the weather alternating between precipitation and sunny skies, the fashionista no longer knows which pair of boots to put on (even more so now that she must count on the very approximate weather bulletins given by [French television weather bunny] Charlotte Le Bon). It is time that someone took the concept of a fashionably correct amphibian shoe seriously.

We may be tempted to congratulate those who have shown the courage to try to make the plastic galoshes (overshoes worn on top of pumps or ballet flats) fashionable, but the result is not very convincing. We clearly prefer the latest proposal by the American label Loeffler Randall, making it possible to keep our feet dry while maintaining a minimum of style.

In order to do so, the shoemaker chose to offer their rubber shoes in urban shapes, throwing out the tired old method of using funky prints to make the rain boot "passable".

Delicate, trendy and deliciously deceptive, the Loeffler Randall laced ankle boots outdate the famous Aigle boots, while adapting perfectly to the fashion rules of the moment. They can be easily worn with a 3/4 slim, a preppy skirt or a pair of flannel shorts, even when the weather is nice.
