Sorel Mountain Boots
02 11 2010Given their recurring appearances in the fashion world, it would seem that the Sorel mountain boot has come down from Canada to break up the Uggs monopoly on winter foot wear.

With their wool lining fitting in perfectly with the très en vogue shearling, and their rubber reinforcements so similar to Fendi's, these low boots - conceived originally to confront the glacial weather of the Great White North - have what it takes to attract the fashionistas.
More waterproof and stylish than the now-classic Uggs, the Sorel Caribou boots should have little trouble taking over the Parisian cobblestones.
If you need convincing, a visit to (Paris concept store) Colette should suffice. There you will see that that Sara Lerfel, a veritable find-all of trends around the world, has already launched a limited series of 50 boots in collaboration with Sorel.

In other words, these boots have received the blessing of the priestess of hype, which means their somewhat massive appearance should not be an obstacle to their climb up the trend ladder. Some, following the example set by Caroline Blomst, have already adopted them (see above).
It remains to be seen how these boots, more suited for alpine hiking than urban sidewalks, will be worn. After thinking it over, it seems that like with the Uggs, the fashion principle that applies would be, "if it doesn't go with anything, it must go with everything."
