18 11 2010

In order to learn something more about the players in the fashion business, recently people have been turning to Todd Selby photos or the Proust-like questionnaires in the magazine, Self Service. This month was Tommy Ton's turn to reveal the 10 most important things to him.

From Karl Lagerfeld's nightstand book to Alber Elbaz's preferred dessert to Anna Wintour's training program, nothing is more tantalizing than the banal, intimate details of those whose lifestyle or career fascinates us. Fashion trotter Tommy Ton's list of 10 things he cannot do without is the latest bit of personal info to be devoured.

First on the Canadian's list: Byredo Blanche perfume, whose scent of freshly ironed clothes has made him an addict. Second: unsurprisingly, his iPod without which he cannot leave his home. It gives him energy while allowing him to isolate himself from the urban cacophony.

As for his wardrobe, he is currently crazy about the Dries Van Noten fall/winter 2010 collection, which for him was a real revelation. He found the perfect chinos that he bought in several colors.

Tommy Ton is also an inveterate collector of magazines that he saves religiously. The Style.com darling would prefer to live surrounded by mountains of glossies rather than separate himself from any one of them.

In conclusion, this dedicated gourmand would sell his soul for donuts from the New Yorker Donut Plant, in his opinion the best in the world. But he would give even more to be able to spend more time in Canada among his family and friends.
