Jean-Paul Goude / L'Agence
15 12 2010For those who were not able to procure one of THE t-shirts of the year signed by Lanvin for H&M, there might be something for you at the Colette concept store (Paris) where you will find the Jean-Paul Goude / L'Agence version in limited edition.

It seems that the cotton t-shirt with a big designer serigraph on it is the thing to have. After "Elbaz meets H&M," it is now the very respected illustrator, photographer, director and graphic artist Jean Paul Goude who is turning some of his illustrations into a series of 4 t-shirts.
Tinged with the whimsical, light pencil strokes of the artistic director of the (French department store) Galeries Lafayette publicity campaigns, these t-shirts should please those who love the Goude touch, which has recently been seen at Chanel as well as at Guerlain Homme.
On the t-shirts are sketches of several famous bicentennial French Revolution parade costumes (that greatly contributed to his fame). These t-shirts also mark the collaboration between Goude and the American designer Margaret Maldonado, artistic director of L'Agence.

Unfortunately, the somewhat prohibitive price and the limited edition aspect that Colette likes to practice could push the clients to consider an example of Chronique d'une image : Jean-Paul Goude aux Galeries Lafayette (published by Editions de la Martinière) instead. For a bit more than 25% of the t-shirt's 165-euro price tag, this book seems to be better suited to satisfy the fashionista's curiosity about the extraordinary image-maker that is Jean-Paul Goude.
